"More networking opportunities.. food and drink. I'm willing to pay more."

"Good place for tech interested to mix"
"i am someone who has gone to many ny tech meetups. its NOT many things and it IS many things. You can do many things while you are at one. yet its is simply "On the 1st Tuesday each month at 7PM, 6 people get 5 minutes each to demo something cool to New York's tech community (geeks, investors, entrepreneurs, hackers, etc)" and it does a GREAT job of being what it is. now what you, or she, or he wants it to be. that may or may not be a tall order. I understand when you move to IAC from someplace like cooper union things carry a different connotation, but Scott does a great job doing what he always has. The meetup is successful because of just that. 7-6-5! NY TECH meetup."

"Well worth the time and effort."
"Very good. Its all about the quality of the presenting companies... maintaining those selection standards is really tough but the key to the group's success."

"dynamic group; good to be part of it"
"This was my first and I'll definitely be back. I think our moderator was moving down the right track when challenging the clothing sale site to talk about technology rather than just marketing."
"I think it is a great idea."
"Keeps getting better."

"The people I did get a chance to talk to were great -- it really seems like a great group and I am looking forward to talking to and interacting with more people from the group (and hopefully presenting something sometime in the not too distant future) "
"I was looking forward to seeing more things demo'ed. I could have picked up most of the information shared by just reading the faq's at the sites of the people who came. Kudos to drop.io and tumblr for actually demoing something."
"Genius!"
"Very good, but I think we should have more presenters, filter out those that don't make the cut, and move things along quicker.... Allow for announcements at the end."
"overall good. Very web 2.0 and a wonderful opportunity to meet like minded professionals, potential partners and investors/investment s."
"Overall a positive experience. Would have liked more "meet and greet" friendly venue though."

"Great!"
"Excellent!"
"I owe you guys 5 bucks because I didn't have cash at the door, but I can't figure out how to PayPal you the money after the fact! Let me know, otherwise I will pay double next time! "
"Still going strong!"
"Arrived right at show time, had to leave immediately after so all I can judge from are the questions folks asked which were (mostly) insightful, appropriate, and showed the caliber of attendees."
"Tough crowd if you're presenting, but a very stimulating group"
"hurrah New York! when's the next one? "
"Silicon Alley is back. 'Nuff said."
"I probably won't be attending this MeetUp again unless one of the slated presenters really grabs my attention."
"I need to attend a few more. It is hard to judge something based on one experience. I was not blown away at this meeting. "
"Place to learn about tech experiments and wannabee businesses. Seems to be attracting more projects than viable startup businesses. Casual and friendly group. "
"Focus seems to be 100% on B2C websites/businesses. I would like to some presentations on technology for B2B-oriented sites too. "

"A great meetup especially with 500 + attendees. "
"The place to be for new tech in NY"
"I guess its hard to keep the ideas coming"
"A good bunch of people, but they sure have to learn how to use a mailing list. (ha ha)"
"Great group of people."
"This is a great group to meet people and to see what others are doing in the extremely active NYC tech scene. NYC isn't normally known for people being open about what they do, but the people at this Meetup love tech, love what they do, and aren't afraid to express their opinions."
"Good presenters with good ideas."
"great ideas, a lot of creativity"
"Can't wait to see more--"
"Very happy we attended, this seems to be the pinnacle meetup! Great stuff. "
"This is a must to have, but needs to be more spaced out. The smaller venues should continue more often. This is a bigger showcase and deserves to be promoted as such."
"Try to attend and try to present"
"Great spirit, camraderie."
"Keep it going!"
"Excellent information. I thought the leader did a great job of keeping the presenters on track."
"Excellent job presenters and Scott is a great organizer!"

"It's so amazing to have this forum to meet with like-minded folks. Thanks."
"the quality of the meetup is directly proportional to the quality of the presenters!"
"i would like more than 10 seconds to present new companies, maybe 30!!"
"I'm originally from Silicon Valley and the NY Tech Meetup has shown me that Silicon Alley is way cooler! "
"I will definitely be back for more!"
"great group of folks"
"I did not check out the profiles of those who planned to attend before the event. And I could not find out who they were and what they were there for at the event. So I feel it was less of a meet up as it was a conference. "
"Awsome."
"More time to schmooze"
"it was good"
"Rock solid, NY throws it DOWN."
"what about non-webbased tech? or name change to NY Web Tech, or NY Software Tech. nice host, nice folks, but very specific to one tech area. "
"great group."
"it was good. It had a very loosely-organized feel, informal yet useful at the same time. "
"This was my first time, and I'll be coming back consistently."
"Well worth the price."
"Like it. Well moderated. In general ... Lively. Fun. Informative. Valuable."
"Give the size... it has a remarkable feeling of being small - a community. This very much part of what I do both for social and business reasons. Always worthwhile..."
"I love this Meetup, both the content and the attendees. I think it'd be VERY MUCH worth spending time and money to iron-out the technical issues to enable proper audio and wireless Internet. This is a demo-centric tech meetup, after all. Thx for listening...."
"If you are a IT entrepreneur you should be here."
"fun stuff."
"Fun group, interesting, informative. Will be back."
"great!"
"Will come back"
"I think it would be great if there was a sub-category within the group message board that would be just for job postings."
"What about World Trade 7? Maybe there's a hot new space in that building?"
" It's a great plus for the New York tech community. "
"Nice feeling, very constructive"
"keep it up - great idea!"
"It was fascinating. Very good meeting."
"A nice bunch of people. Good mix of "buyers" & "sellers." "
"very good- i will definately go back"
"I think you need to spice up the format a bit. First suggestion is to have a meetup every two months, you can get much better speakers that way. I like the idea of something along the lines of the instructables guy -- talking about a concept and not really demoing a web 2.0 business. I think there are a lot of interesting people willing to give a mini 5 minute talk on a tech related concept. Perhaps some spoken editorials, experience anecdotes, emerging trends, social behavior, etc. I think that scott is a great mc. I think its funny when he sums up the presenter's long winded self explanation down to about 4 words. I think that he should engage the audience more. For example, I think that some members in the audience are pretty interesting. If a guy is asking some pretty interesting questions, Scott could ask him to come up to the stage and introduce himself -- or interview him. I think that would be very entertaining and interesting. I have more thoughts. not enough charactrs!"
"Best time $5 can buy in New York City"
"There seem to be some great folks at the meetup. I look forward to the next one!"
"This is a great Meetup Group. The idea of keeping the presentations short keeps things moving along at a good clip and assures diversity of material. Excellent job!"
"keep it up "
"First meeting. Not bad. Companies are not as early stage as I thought. Overall, great experience."
"Wish there were sales people there rather than techies."
"The group is fantastic. "
"Will defifinitely go to future NY tech meetups."
"Really solid. Will definitely be back."
"Everyone was cool."
"I've come to a couple meetings and think they are great. I wonder if we couldn't add a bulletin board for individuals who are looking to connect - looking for collaborators on the technical or business front etc. I find that it's hard to actually talk to people during this event and meeting at a bar afterwards is not always the best way either. Thanks either way for putting on a great event."
"Lot of smart dudes and a few dudettes."
"I'll definitely be attending the meetups to come!"
"Can we keep up the quality of the presentations ? I think we can but if not it may be better to drop back to every six weeks or every second month. "
"Excellent meetup group. Must-see for techies/startup/inve stment types in the tri-state area!!!"
"Always great! A brilliant way for the industry to get together and share news and ideas."
"Charlie Federman gave the most interesting speech this time, I think you should get him up more often for his view on things."
"It wasn't as good as I expected in networking, this being my first experience."
"I'll be back!"
"A great group of people; I'm privileged to have met them. "
"I think that there should be less presentations with a bit more time. I felt like I was on the Amtrak."
"Excellent. Keep it low key and casual."
"A huge asset to the New York technology community."
"Interested to see what else is in store for the next few months."
"Great effort by those that set up each month's event that is very much appreciated."
"Overall, it was great. I think that you may want to give the presenters a few more minutes to speak."
"Great job. Keep up the good work."
"see above"
"great group, great people, real people, a lot of networking groups have people but not people you want to associate with, everyone i meet here is great!"
"I still love the meetup group and concept. I'll definitely be there next month."
"It's a good one. I feel lucky that it exists."
"Great meetup, great service to the NY tech community"
"Love the concept and the tight control. A little IRC backchannel would be nice."
"Love it!"
"lovely group."
"+1!"
"We admire our big brother!"
"good people with great ideas"
"all smart passionate people"
"Thanks for organizing it, and keep doing what you're doing! In Silicon Valley, I used to attend the accu-usa.org's monthly group. They had 1-2 hour long presentations, often introductions, to technical topics. I learned a tremendous amount there in the 3 years I attended, and still haven't found an equivalent club here. If this group spins one like that off, I'd like to hear about it."
"Excellent - worthwhile and easilly recommendable"
"Networking seems to be the thing most desired. The pitch session format minimizes that."
"definitely enjoyed it and will attend future tech meetups."
"As a newbie it's hard to judge off the bat, but it certainly made a very positive first impression. Thank you for organizing this!"
"Agree with Scott's thought that presenting more diverse technology would be fascinating"
"This group is the best, good people, smart people..."
"-Scott H.'s idea of branching into other tech areas such as power and biotech at the next NY Tech Meetup I feel is a bad idea. Maybe this group should be renamed the New Web/Internet tech group. I attended to learn about new Web companies. Learning about other industries would be largly irrelevant to me and many of the current attendees I would imagine. "
"Very intersting, ggod to see that tech is back in NYC"
"I'll be back"
"Keep it going."
"Wow, David Siegel was there! Mr. One-Pixel-Gif-Trick himself. Having Kevin Ryan there was impressive too. "
"woudl like a way to interact after the meeting -- I need to find a web developer for my project"
"Needs more involvement between attendees"
"seems like a good group. again, wish i had more time to meet people... would love to go to another one soon. definitely enjoyed it."
"Excellent group of people with intelligent and probing questions for the presenters. Am very glad to have joined..."
"I will certainly continue to attend! I really enjoy networking and hearing about opportunities in the world of tech..."
"I could only stay for the presentations, announcements, and a few minutes of networking, but it was all fantastic!"
"i think the time limit and high-presure style is great"
"definitely attending next time"
"keep up the good work"
"Cool."
"Good stuff!"
"It has been suggested that groups should splinter off on specific topics - I am not sure if this is to maybe to reduce the size of this group? If it is then I think people like the fact that this is so wide open topic wise and maybe it should be run more often to reduce the numbers if they become out of control for the venues we have. "
"We were told to meetup afterwards for drinks at New Gate Tavern. Turned out the venue was closed. It's Newgate-gate! HEHE. great event, thanks."
"Perfect!! Can't ask for more."
"scott's the man. and it's so nice to meet lots of people with great ideas. the growth of this group ultimately makes me wonder when it will dissolve into smaller groups and what groups those will be"
"Please do not split up this group! It's great to get a number of very different interests and topics in one session, diversity of profiles is the necessary condition for brainstorming and networking."
"Good group!"
"again, great time. but drive home "show, don't tell"...so people don't get bored."
"I love the fact that it is so vauge, that going in I really didn't know what to expect, and at next month's meeting, the affair could easily be entirely different."
"Nice group. A mixed bag if there ever was one. Not sure if my technology fits in, but I'll give it a try."
"Technologists looking to share ideas and network. I found the group to be very friendly and the technology presentations were all very interesting and informative. This is a really innovative group of people. Overall, a pretty impressive group."
"An interesting evening for anyone interested in technology"
"I have attended one event and it was very impressive. I would recommend the group to anyone interested in new technology."
"keep on cracking that 5 min whip"
"This group seems to be more about promotion then about new technology, which is cool, but misleading. I was expecting to see more discussion about how and what is being done on the internet and less of this is what I'm trying to sell you."
"It's technology with a soul."
"I did enjoy the presentations, but unfortunately didn't have time to hang out afterwords"
"this meetup is now shrinking in size, but the new size feels better and remaining people seem higher in quality. "
"Excelent group. Looking forward to more meetings."
"create a more formal and organized networking hour."
"concerned that if it gets any bigger it should be broken up into multiple meetup groups, otherwise it might become too unwieldy."
"This Meetup Group is destined to become one of the most useful and successful of all."
The first Tuesday of every month 5-7 people get 5 minutes to wow the NY tech community.
