"Networking at a great venue is a one-of-a-kind experience, but even if you don't meet or talk with another person, being part of the environment energizes your thoughts. One should join just for that."
"There are clearly smart people doing interesting things coming to the events. Interesting that none of tonights presenters were based (yet) in NYC."

"Very diverse and interesting group of people!"
"I'd be interested to see how other events go. I have no idea how these events are structured or how I would benefit from them, but I like the idea."
"The venue is nice, but got really packed by 7:30. They can only handle 150 people in that back room at Pourhouse. And a coat check would have been nice. I left about 7:40, but made 2 good contacts in the 50 minutes I was there. Next time I'll get to the meetup an hour early and order supper, and share the table. Robert Patrick"
"Look forward to attending future events. "

"Brett rocks as always"

Created in early 2006, NextWeb's NY Web 2.0 Meetup has become one of the largest and fastest growing networking organizations in New York City, and has been recognized by Meetup.com as one of the largest 'New Technology' groups in the world. The events include presentations and/or showcases from New York-based companies of all aspects as well as time for informal networking before and afterwards among the guests. Previous presenters and sponsors include Sun Microsystems, The Economist, KickApps, Gary Vaynerchuk of WineLibrary.tv, Eric Litman of Washington VC, Blog Talk Radio, and more. Information, reviews, and photos from the events have been featured on both national and international websites and publications such as CNET, Mashable, Center Networks, and the Wall Street Journal.
In 2007, NextWeb launched the official version of Lunch 2.0. A social phenomenon in Silicon Valley the events would soon solidify their presence within the New York business and tech scene (also known as ?Silicon Alley?). The inaugural event, hosted and sponsored by TheLadders.com at their downtown office, featured a small presentation by Marc Cenedella, Founder of TheLadders.com, as well as free Chinese food and customized Lunch 2.0 t-shirts for the 200-plus attendees. The large attendance and rave reviews have increased interest and demand for more Lunch 2.0 events, two of which will be hosted by Optaros and Sapient in 2008.
