Details

You are invited to join us for the following experiment/event on Saturday, December 15 at 6:00 pm. Here is a short description.

Terpsichore is a system we are designing for human movement composition without rehearsal. We are experimenting with movement instructions to find those that are meaningful to regular people. At this event, while Terping, you will be wearing a small computer on your arm much like an I pod. You will also be wearing a set of headphones through which you will be hearing a pleasant voice. None of the instructions you will be responding to are physically taxing. Some require interpretation, either physically or emotionally. Most will be straightforward; all of them will be simple to follow. It's important to be able to move about the room in whatever you?re wearing that day. Also, we will be recording the session for our archives. The fun part of Terping is that you will be creating, with the others, a little art piece in real time.

Terpsichore, in Greek mythology is the muse of dancing.

Hope you can join us at:
392 Broadway, between Walker and White Sts. 1.5 blocks south of Canal St.
#3F RUSH DANCE, 3rd Floor. 212-431-7051.

Please RSVP: patriceregnier@earthlink.net
Or: 212 431 7051
We need at least 15 people to make it work!

Thank you in advance for your participation in this experiment!

Date: Saturday, December 15th, 2007
Time: 6:00 PM for one hour. Stay afterward for a glass of wine and a snack!
