Hi lovely Meetup Group, A big hello to all of our new members! It's been longer then usual since our last TERP event, so we're extra excited for this one! We'll be trying a whole new experiment, as well as an interactive experiment (where you can "play" each other) and our nearly perfected TERP called "Whistle." For those of you who are totally confused by all this, please see the description below. If you've already TERPed then you know--we start promptly at 7 and TERP for one hour, then share glass of wine and a bite to eat here at the loft. Truly hope you all can make it! Here is a short description: Terpsichore, is the Greek muse of dance. Hope you can be with us at: Take the N,R,Q,W, J,M,Z or the #6 or the A,C,E to Canal Street Please RSVP: patriceregnier1@mac. Date: Thursday December 10th Thank you and hope to see you soon! |

2 attended (est.) – No rating yet You are invited join us for the following experiment/event on Friday, December 19th at 7:00 pm. Here is a short description: Terpsichore is a system we are designing for human movement composition without rehearsal. We are experimenting with movement instructions to find those that are meaningful to regular people. At this event, while Terping, you will be wearing a small computer on your arm much like an ipod. You will also be wearing a set of headphones through which you will be hearing a pleasant voice. None of the instructions you will be responding to are physically taxing. Some require interpretation, either physically or emotionally. Most will be straightforward; all of them will be simple to follow. It's important to wear clothes you can move in. Also, we will be recording the session for our archives. The fun part of Terping is that you will be creating, with the others, a little art piece in real time. Terpsichore, in Greek mythology is the muse of dancing. Hope you join us at: Date: Friday, December 19th, 2008 We need at least 15 people to make it work! We will be offering a glass of wine and a snack after the experiment. Thank you in advance for your participation in this experiment! |

1 attended (est.) – No rating yet It's TERP time again!!! So, a magazine of new culture and technology, called FUSE, wants to feature TERP in their first issue. How cool is that? Now, here's where it gets a little wacky. They want to experience a TERP event, and they want it to happen Thursday. If any of you are available, Thursday, July 24th at 7 pm, please, oh please, come TERP with us! If you haven't received one of these emails before, TERP is a wireless, multi-channel broadcast system of custom built hardware and software for composing, designing, and driving human movement without rehearsal. Basically, you come to Rush Dance, put on what looks like a custom built iPod, and do a bunch very simple, very fun movement instructions with a bunch of other people, who are also doing their own set of movement instructions. Discover what it's like to be inside an event that you manifest in realtime. Then we feed you and give you drinks and off you go. The whole thing takes about an hour. To read more about it, visit www.terping.com. If you like what you see, please RSVP to patriceregnier@earth When: Thursday, July 24th @ 7pm For more info visit: www.terping.com |
