Madison Area Science and Technology (MAST) is a non-profit amateur science organization whose mission is to support scientific research without regard to credentials, to support a scientifically informed public, to perform tasks of a scientific nature on behalf of the public interest, and to reduce the burden of government.

Big Data Madison promotes the understanding and adoption of technologies used to acquire, store, and analyze the tsunami of data created by social media interactions, mobile devices, website clickstreams, retail transactions, computer log files, embedded processors, and sensors. Everyone is encouraged to join, no level of experience is too basic to join and participate. We'll cover technologies like Hadoop, BigTable, Kafka, Cassandra, Lucene, and more!
